Here
is the school home for our
gerbils. The gerbils another
aquarium at my house. I
will bring them on Thursday for
Open House and next week for
school. This area is also our
science area. Do you see the
snakeskin and the cow skull?
Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and
Woodstock likes to sit on the
cow skull. Maybe it reminds
Snoopy of his doghouse.
All
of the charts above the cubbies
have information about the many
things we are learning .
Also there is a small Charlie
Brown name tag in each cubby in
the upper right corner. Your
name is on one of those
tags. I am not allowed to
show children's names on our
webpage, so you will notice the
names on the tags have been
blocked out.
Our
computers are ready for you to
practice various skills and
demonstrate your mastery of
skills. You have a year
membership in Sumdog in reading,
writing, and math. My class last
year won the Sumdog in math
membership and I used the money
given to each teacher from our
great AESA to purchase the
memberships in writing and
math. You can go on Sumdog
at home too. I have also
added some links to sites we
will use for research and to
practice various skills.
Our
Smore bulletin board is
finished. Each student in the
room has a smore with their name
on it. The names have been
covered in this picture.
Each
desk has a purple folder with
papers for your parents.
Your parents may take these
folders home at Open House. If
you do not attend Open House
you will take them home the
first day of school. The
papers are very important and
some of them need to be filled
out by your parents and
returned as soon as possible.
Each of the groups of desks
have a cart of supplies.
I am hoping the carts will
make it easier for everyone to
get these materials when we
need them in class. I also put
labels on some of the things
in our room for Open House to
explain how we use these
things in our room.
ur
room is now ready for the
first day of school. Behind my
desk is a blue chart. It tells
what time we have specials.
This year we have gym on
Monday every week for 40
minutes. We have Music on
Tuesday for 30 minutes and
intervention gym on Wednesday
for15 minutes. We also have
library on Thursday for 30
minutes. Art is on Friday
every other week for 60
minutes. We will have art the
first week of school.
All
of our library books are in
their correct baskets. Do you
think you can remember to put
your books back in the right
basket? Each of you will
receive a bookmark and a
bookholder. The bookmark is to
hold your place in your book
as you read it. The bookmark
is to left in the basket when
you take a book to your
seat. When you have
finished with the book you are
to put the book back in its
correct basket and take back
you book holder to use when
you find your next book.
Look
at all the Woodstocks
parachuting into our
classroom. Your name is
on one of the parachutes. You
will see it when you come to
school. I have blocked
out your names as I am not
allowed to post children's
names on our website.
I think we are all set for
the first day of school.

and will help to keep it a
