I have place a
large crayon box on one of our
back bulletin boards.
You will make the crayons the
first week of school to finish
this bulletin
board. I also put
up a quilt pocket chart.
Each of you will have a pocket
to add a piece to our
classroom quilt. We will do
several projects throughout
the year to change our
classroom quilt.
I also need to finish setting
up the listening center
activities.

The
"Peanuts" Camping
bulletin board says, "Time for
Smore Learning!" I am
going to add some smores with
names on them. Do you
think you know whose names I
will put on the smores? I
also need to finish putting
out the book baskets for our
classroom library. All of the
book baskets in the cubbies
will go on top of the
bookcases. I am waiting
until I get the new curtains
for the top windows made and
up. I may have to move the
bookcases in order to get the
ladder close enough to the top
windows. |
The
white baskets hold our
center activities. I
have unpacked them from the
tubs and boxes. The
first set of baskets has
reading activities and games,
the second set of baskets has
math activities and games, and
the third set of baskets has
construction activities. Every
day you will be assigned a
center or computer activity. I
need to add to add the center
signs to the baskets. |
My
desk is almost ready. The blue
boxes will hold our Red and
Blue folders. The yellow
and orange folder holders will
hold our morning meeting
folders. Our lunch
choice cards are at the front
of the desk. The
stack of books on my desk
are new books for our
library. I still need to
bring in my two lucky bamboo
plants. Two of my
daughters gave them to me. Since
I generally do not sit at my
desk, I use it as a
resource/supply area.
|
I have added a curtain
under our sink. I use
this area for storage. The
sets of drawers are for our
work papers. This area
is also where we keep our pets
and science displays.
You can see our cow skull
(Snoopy and Charlie Brown are
sitting on it.), our snake
skin, baby dinosaur model, and
lucky fish bowl. There will be
another classroom pet here
when school starts. |
The front of
our room is almost finished.
The blue charts on the left
are for assignments and
centers. The calendar
chart and other items on the
right are for morning meeting
activities. Above the
white board is our alphabet
and Peanuts' color and number
charts. The bookcases under
the white boards hold our
dictionaries and other books
we use during guided reading
groups. My husband made the
bookcases for me.
Do you see the black poster on
the wall on the far
left? I found it in my
mailbox. I thought it
was a great chart and put it
right above our light
switch. Mrs. Warring
later told me it was a gift
from our new principal, Mrs.
Burzanko. I like what it says.
If we remember to do all the
things on that poster, we will
have a wonderful year! You
will be able to meet Mrs.
Burzanko at Open House on
August 20th from 6:00 - 7:00
P.M. During Open House you can
visit our classroom and show
your parents around the
school. You may also bring
your school supplies and put
them in your desk. I hope you
will be able to attend. I
would love to meet you and
your family.

We
now have a Snoopy
flag on our door and
a blue Snoopy
curtain on our door
window. The
door window curtain
says "Let's Be
Friends" and shows
Snoopy and Woodstock
being friends. The
long blue chart by
the door is for
our restroom
cards.
This is how our door
looks from the
hallway. I need to
add a bunch of
Woodstocks with
names on them to the
middle of the
door.
