"All About Groundhogs"
I'd like to share some facts about groundhogs I learned. Groundhogs are fuzzy and brown. They weigh between five and ten pounds and are about 20 inches long. Groundhogs eat leaves, flowers, and berries. Their teeth grow all the time. They chew on twigs and branches to keep teeth from getting too long. Groundhogs live under the ground in a burrow. Groundhogs are found in the United States and Canada. Groundhogs have different chambers in their burrows. They are related to mice, squirrels, and beavers. I never guessed that groundhogs could be so interesting.

My essay is about groundhogs. They can weigh up tp 4 to 9 pounds. They have two coats of fur. They are usually brown. They eat grass, berries, and crops. They live in burrows underground. Groundhogs live mostly in North America. The groundhog is also known as a woodchuck. They can live up to 6 years in the wild. They are also good swimmers. This ends my essay about groundhogs.

"Groundhogs"
Groundhogs are known for their burrowing habits. Groundhogs are the largest species in the squirrel family. Other names for groundhogs include woodchucks, whistle pigs, and land beavers. Groundhogs are skilled climbers and swimmers, which helps them to escape less-skilled predators. Groundhogs' burrows are so complex that each has its own bathroom. Groundhog burrows are known to have been responsible for uncovering a historic village in central Ohio -  now a famous archaeological site. Groundhogs are very interesting creatures.

"Groundhogs"
Let me tell you some facts about groundhogs. Groundhogs have brown fur and sharp claws for digging. They are herbivores and eat berries, grass, and other green things. Groundhogs live in burrows under the ground. Groundhogs are often eaten by wolves, coyotes, and eagles. They climb trees and swim. These are the facts about groundhogs.

"Groundhogs"
You want to know some facts about groundhogs. Well you came to the right place. Groundhogs are vegetarians. That means they eat only vegetables and grasses. The groundhogs do not like that and they do not know any better and they also eat carrots, clover, and alfalfa. They can eat up to 15 pounds of salad a day. When they are born they are blind and helpless and less than 4 inches. When they grow up they are 20 inches long. They usually live about two years but can live as long as 8 years. They male a whistle sound when alarmed. What is really cool about groundhogs is that they can lower their body temperature and hibernate during the winter. Even their blood flow slows down during hibernation.

"Groundhogs"
Groundhogs eat grass and leaves. They hibernate in the winter. On February 2 the legend says if a groundhog sees his shadow there will be six more weeks of winter. If he does not see it we will have an early spring. They really pull him out of his burrow.  What did he see this year? HIS SHADOW!

"Groundhogs"
The groundhog is a rodent. Groundhogs have short limbs with thick, curved claws. They have a gray fur coat with a short tail. Groundhogs eat dandelions, insects, and clover. They live in a burrow that they dig. Snakes eat young groundhogs because they are easy to get into the burrow. Groundhogs are a lot like moles.
11
"The Mouse Bear"
The groundhog is a very interesting creature. Groundhogs are very hairy. They are also called a mouse bear because they look like a little bear when they stand up. Groundhogs eat clover, alfalfa, dandelions, and cat food. They also eat grubs, grasshoppers, insects, snails, and other small animals. Groundhogs live underground in burrows they dig. The burrows are up to 6 feet deep and 20 feet or more in length.  When hibernating their heart beats go from 80 beats a minutes to 5 beats a minute. They do not eat when hibernating. All of these things make the groundhog an interesting animal.
12
  "All About Groundhogs"
Groundhogs are mostly in central and eastern United States. MThey spend most of their time underground in their burrows. They are active during the day in the spring until October when they begin to hibernate. They eat 1/3 of their body weight! The groundhog is the largest species in the squirrel family. Another name for a groundhog is a woodchuck. They can live anywhere between 3 to 6 years.
13
"Research on Groundhogs"
Groundhogs are interesting for many reasons.  Groundhogs have a heavy chunky body with short powerful legs for digging. They eat vegetables, fruits, insects, flowers, seeds, eggs, and grass. It lives in open country with edges of woodland. A groundhog's burrow can be as long as a bus. Groundhogs have to be careful because wolves, coyotes, and foxes hunt them. Groundhogs have very good eyesight and hearing. Groundhogs have many interesting qualities, I enjoyed learning about!!!!

"Groundhog Facts"
Groundhogs are large rodents know for their burrows, habits, and destructive behavior. They look like squirrels, but with a bigger body. They are brown with a round body and a bushy tail. They have legs and curved claws. They eat clover, alfalfa, and dandelions. They also eat insects sometimes but groundhogs are mostly herbivores. Groundhogs live in burrows, which they dig. They spend most of the their time underground. They dig their burrows near things like fences or home foundations. They use their burrows to store food. They are also known as woodchucks and whistle pigs. They are true hibernators. They sleep from October to early spring. Farmers consider them pests! They dig tunnels that ruin farms and farm equipment. Groundhogs like to be alone unlike their cousin's the prairie dogs. Groundhogs are good at digging burrows but most people find them to be pests.

"The Groundhog"
Groundhogs are little fuzzy animals that live in the ground. They are cute and look like chubby squirrels. They like to eat vegetables, apples, flowers, and dandelions. They are herbivores because they don't eat meat. Groundhogs live in the United States and Canada. They make their homes under the ground in tunnels. Groundhogs live to be 3 to 6 years old. They are the largest species in the squirrel family. They are also great swimmers and climbers to get away from bad guys. When it's warm out I can see a groundhog that goes in my yard to eat flowers.

"Groundhogs"
Groundhogs are very interesting rodents. They look like grown furballs with small bushy tails. Groundhogs eat insects, vegetables, and plants. They live underground in burrows. The burrows have many rooms. They live for 3 to 6 years. Their temperature drops from 99 degrees F. to 40 degrees F. and their heart rate slows down from 80 beats a minute to 5 beats during hibernation. They have 5 toes in the front and 4 toes in the back. I hope you have found groundhogs as interesting as I have.
