QUESTION OF THE DAY

Work with your child to make a list of insects
they are familiar with. After you make your
list discuss with your child which of those
insects they would want to be and ask them to
explain why.

INSECT HEAD BAND
Help your child feel like an insect by
creating a bug themed head band. Using strips
of paper create a band to go around your
child’s head. Once you have your band work
with your child to decorate it like an insect,
this can include, eyes, antennae, legs,
anything you need to create your own insect
head band.

INSECT MEASURING
Insect
Measuring Sheet
Help your child measure images of insects, you
can print out our sheet of insect pictures or
draw your own. Find an item you have a lot of
such as stones, small blocks, cotton balls,
pieces of paper, anything you have enough of
that are relatively the same size in order to
measure with. Lay the items out both
underneath and next to the images; this will
allow you and your child to measure the
images’ height and length.

Puffy
Sidewalk Paint Recipe
Work with your child to try and make puffy
paint. Follow the provided recipe and allow
your child to help measure and mix the
ingredients. After you have created the paint
go outside and explore with it on a sidewalk
