QUESTION OF THE DAY
Can you name any insects?
To go along with our read alouds and insect study see what kinds of insects your child already knows. Make a list of your child’s answer as a way of showing what he/she already knows about insects.

Rectangle Dot Sheet
Work with your child to fill in the dots around the shape to make a rectangle. You can print out the dotted rectangle sheet or you can draw one of your own.

Insect Moving Game
Play an insect movement game with your child. You can follow the movements on the given sheet or make up your own. While making the movements describe the insects and why you think they move the way they do.
MATH CHALLENGE
MOTH COUNTING BACKWARDS CHANT
Try a new chant with your child involving using your fingers to count backwards from 10.
"[Ten] happy moths flutter through the night searching for a shining light. One moth said, "I must go to bed!" and [nine] happy moths flew off instead. Continue the rhyme counting down until you reach zero.

FREEZE TAG
Play freeze tag with your child outside. Take turns being “it” and trying to tag each other.

CONSCIOUS DISCIPLINE
BUNNY BREATHING
Today we will be talking about how to control our emotions by using breathing techniques. We will be learning a new technique today called bunny breathing. Your child will put up two finger and scrunch up their nose. When taking a breath in raise the two fingers, when exhaling the child will lower their hand. We will practice this technique 3 times.
